Pat O'Neill's Beef Stew

1 pound beef stew meat or round steak, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 chopped onion
1 red pepper
1 cup diced carrots
2 russet potatoes
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 package cooked egg noodles for serving
Chop all ingredients the same size. Vegetables cook slower than meat in a slow cooker, so place them at the bottom, then add meat and the liquids. Place everything except the noodles in a crock pot, cover and cook at high heat for 5 hours, stirring every hour or so. Boil egg noodles, serve stew in shallow bowls over the noodles. Serves 2-4
