My recent first ever trip to New Orleans was everything I hoped it would be and more. The weather was great (upper 60s to low 80s), and my husband and I squeezed in a lot of sight-seeing into 3.5 days. The highlight of our visit was two different bike tours we took with Free Wheelin' Bike Tours. I highly recommend them if you'd like to see New Orleans "up close and personal." Riding their single-speed cruiser bikes is a fantastic way to take in the sights. We got to explore the French Quarter, Garden District, City Park, cemeteries, Armstrong Park and Congo Square, some remnants of Hurricane Katrina damage, Frenchmen Street (where lots of locals go for their live music), and much more. Keith and I also spent about 4.5 hours in the National World War II Museum. We could have spent much longer than that because there's SO MUCH to see.
I now understand why so many people fall in love with New Orleans. My husband and I are already dreaming about when we can go back!
