I’ve been ranting about Mother Nature in my my last couple of blog posts, regarding damage done by trees toppled over during recent storms, but this time I want to say, “Kudos to you, Mother Nature.” Beginning last summer, I noticed some blackberry bushes growing in the wild on my property. I thought to myself, “You’ve got to be kidding . . . these are the berries that sell for $2.99 in tiny containers in grocery stores, and here they are just a few yards from my backdoor ready to enjoy for free!” The only price I pay is a few scratches on my hands from the thorns, plus having to douse myself in bug repellent to keep the mosquitoes from having me for lunch while I pick.
So thank you, Mother Nature. I guess we can still be friends.
