Sara’s Blog: Time for Me to Fly

After much thought and several queasy feelings of uncertainty in my stomach, I’ve decided that it’s a good time for me to resign from the afternoon show on Magic 98. I won’t go into all the details that led me to this decision, but it just feels like the right time for my life to head in a different direction. I will still work some weekends on Magic 98 (can’t get Saturday at the 70s out of my blood!), but after nearly 35 years in the radio business, I’m ready for a change. My husband needs my help in his real estate/property management business, and I’m looking forward to spending more time with him while having more control over my day-to-day schedule.

Magic 98 will always hold a very special place in my heart. It was my first full-time gig that I landed just days after graduating college. I’ve worked at a lot of radio stations over the years (11 at last count!), and Magic listeners are some of the kindest and most generous I’ve ever met. And I couldn’t ask for better co-workers. Pat, Lanette, Ginger, Kathryn, Jim, Jillene, and all of our talented weekend part-timers make this a very special place to work. I truly feel as though I’m going out on top. My last day on the air doing my afternoon show will be Thursday, December 28, but I look forward to getting down with you during Saturday at the 70s in the new year!
