Kathryn’s Blog: Cleanin’ With Coke

I was noodling through Facebook the other day where I watched a video of a few things that Coca-Cola will clean. Years and years ago, once I learned Coke would take the paint off a car, I stopped drinking all soda. Truly, I thought perhaps this video was a spoof. Thing is, I love my electric tea kettle, but despite my daily rituals of clearing the deposits off with a non-abrasive sponge wand, it has collected some unappealing deposits. What the hey, I thought, “why not,” and bought a bottle of Coke at Kwip Trip, poured it in the kettle, let it sit a few hours and by golly! It’s not a joke at all! People have told me to use vinegar, but I hate the smell and taste of it lingering in my tea. I still wouldn’t *drink* a Coke though. . .
