Wow. Imagine my surprise when i got an invitation to my "little" niece's 30th birthday party. Heidi is actually a really cool woman...and decided to mark the milestone with a big blow out...complete with a rented hall and my fav...free beer. It really is weird, cause I'll always think of her as that giddy kid with the wild sense of humor. We had a blast, but it was apparent that my days of keeping up with 30 year old partiers are about over. Happy Birthday kiddo.
Got the word that the spill I took this winter means shoulder surgery! So next month, if you don't hear me for awhile, it's not that I have been fired, it's that I'm convalescing...or at least I hope so.
My wife Terri and I...like many people right now...got a little stir crazy, and decided to get away for a quick weekend somewhere, anywhere but home. We packed up the car and took off for one of our fav spots, Door County. A great idea, but unfortunately I should have done my homework a bit better. Many of our fav stops while visiting the Door...were closed! Not all, but many. We did get our oil fix at the Oilery in Fish Creek. We also made the wine tasting rounds. Stone's Throw, Penninsula, Simmons Creek, but the eateries were limited. We stayed in a cool little motel right on 42. It was a cold rainy Saturday night, but there we were in their glass enclosed indoor pool and hot tub sipping Margaritas. The cool thing about the off season, is that we pretty much had the pool to ourselves. I recommend a little cabin fever getaway. It works wonders!
This is exactly what we don't need. Just when it seemed like we were ready to turn the corner...and head into spring...this. I don't know about you, but more snow I don't need. I have gotten my fill of shoveling, falling and freezing for this year. I am ready to start doing garden type stuff...but I guess that will have to wait a while yet. I remember last year, I was able to get a lot done around this time, but this year I haven't seen my garden yet. Oh well, may as well take it in stride...don't have a choice.
