So someone got smart somewhere along the way when it comes to children's movies. They realized that the parents will be watching this movie with their kids so they better make the movie parent-appropriate while at the same time making it kid-appropriate. On Earth Day I thought it'd be fun to watch 'The Lorax' with my 17 month-old son, Everett. He loved it. He sings and dances and pays close attention to almost the entire 80 minute movie. My husband and I love this movie as well. From the storyline to the soundtrack neither of us get bored either. Plus we constantly find ourselves singing along...'How ba-a-a-ad can I be?' We have an Apple TV so we've got access to great movies. When you watch a movie there's a section that offers, 'movies you may be interested in.' One night, 'A Turtle's Tale' popped up as one of those suggested movies. It's not a very well-known movie but there are some voices you'd recognize...Melanie Griffith, Kathy Griffin just to name a few and when Bruno Mars starts singing a couple of the songs throughout the movie, it's hard to not start to sway or dance. So if this weekend doesn't turn out to be the perfect sort of Memorial Day weather we'd all like, have fun indoors. Get in your jammies, pop some popcorn, plop on the floor and make some family memories with a good movie...I'm so happy to say that there are some good ones out there.
Good luck if you're running any races this weekend. The Twilight 10k or the Madison Half Marathon should have nice, mild weather for your run. Go get 'em!
