My little buddy will be two next month. Can you believe it? Roman's birthday is August 27th. We'll be having his party a couple weeks before that, and we've decided to go with the "Old McDonald" theme. This kid could sing 'E-I-E-I-O' all day long (and sometimes does). It'll just be a small family-and-friends party, and I just can't wait to celebrate him. He's really a funny, sweet, ornery, smart, silly kid and I'm so proud to be his mommy.
In other birthday news, my niece, Ella just turned five, and my nephew, Nate, is going to be 2 next week. This is just crazy. I remember being the little cousin running around so happy with all of my favorite people, who happened to be my cousins, and now the next generation is really on its way.
Oh, I almost forgot: my mother-in-law and grandma's birthdays are on the 14th, and my mom's is the 15th. Then on the 16th, my Great Aunt Edna will be 101! Get this . . . my grandpa was a triplet. Everett, Emmett, and Edna were born in 1915 in Linden, Wisconsin. And when you think about it, no one knew that triplets were on their way. (It's not like they headed into town for an ultrasound appointment in 1915.) My Grandpa Everett (my oldest son is named after him) and Great Uncle Emmett passed some time ago, but Edna is still just a spitfire.
Hope you're having a great summer of celebrating your favorite people's birthdays . . . and eating lots of cake.
