If you’ve ever picked up strawberries at the grocery store, cleaned ‘em up and put them in a bowl in the fridge ready for snacking as an attempt to grab the strawberries rather than the bag of chips...good for you! The only problem is, when you opened the fridge and took out the bowl all of the strawberries were dark red and wrinkled. That’s because you should only wash strawberries when you’re just about to eat ‘em. Otherwise you’ve got one to three days to finish them up.

Strawberries are ridiculously yummy on a spinach salad with goat cheese and fat free poppyseed dressing. You can use them on top of pancakes rather than syrup and when you mix them with frozen yogurt or fat free pudding it feels like you’re cheating, but you’re not.
