Mark Van Allen

I grew up in: Verona
First radio job: News/Talk 1480 WTDY
Year of Magic debut: 1991
One thing I'd like to see back in Madison : Butter Brickle ice cream at Babcock Hall.
Last great book I read: I love any Tom Clancy novel (preferably read on a tropical beach). I'm currently reading "True Compass" and "Last Lion: The Fall and Rise of Ted Kennedy." I love anything that deals with the Kennedy family. Must be the Irish in me.
Favorite Magic artist or group: Maroon 5, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Norah Jones and guitarist Craig Chaquico from Sunday Smooth.
Guilty pleasures: A beer on the Union Terrace, ice cream at Monona Bait & Ice Cream Shop, gelato at Java Cat, molasses cookies at The Rolling Pin and margaritas with Bob Bonner at that little hole-in-the-wall in Puerto Vallarta!
Best childhood memory: Any time spent at my grandparents' house on Eagle Lake .
I feel strongly about this charity: Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund. It provides assistance with utility bills for low-income families, the disabled and elderly people on fixed incomes. In this economy, there are more people than ever that are in dire need of help. Learn more or make a donation here.
