Winter Light
Written by Kathryn Vaughn on January 22, 2014
Though I would not want to be working outside fixing telephone poles, I really LIKE winter a lot. I’m pretty sure it has to do with the angle of the earth that makes the sun’s light seem a brighter white. Even without the snow, it’s a much clearer light … and then there’s the clean crisp air with no bugs! In summer, the light has a yellow tint.
When I went for my walk today, I not only had the satisfaction of the snow crunching under foot, even the tiny red and black berries left on the trees looked like little gems. I could also read the goose tracks … they were swimming around like it was Tahiti. I need a guide book to learn which animals make which tracks. Fun!
