I’ve been living in Stoughton since 2001, and have been involved with the Stoughton Area Resource Team (S.T.A.R.T.) as much as I can. It’s a special, local, resource that acts as a safety net for those in crisis. It’s unique because it’s geared for those under age 55. There are services for moms, and seniors in need, but those in-between years is where S.T.A.R.T. can help. As the weather gets colder, being homeless can be life threatening. S.T.A.R.T. does a lot to help prevent people from losing their home, but there are people now that are homeless. For the month of November, Fired Up Nutrition at 177 W. Main Street in Downtown Stoughton, is collecting socks and gloves. Every size for every age is needed! Drop off times are 7AM-4PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays until November 30. If you would like to help or just learn more, you can contact Cindy Thompson, the director of S.T.A.R.T. (her office is in the Senior Center on Main Street) or go to S.T.A.R.T.’s web site. Everything is appreciated!
