Jillene’s Blog: Road To The Polls

Written by on September 3, 2020

COVID-19 has changed so much of our world. With the upcoming election on November 3, it’s created an increased need for poll workers, as many long-term poll workers are at higher risk for COVID-19.

So, if you are healthy and not in a high-risk group, consider becoming a poll worker in your city or in a nearby city that needs help. It’s easy to find out how to do it. I contacted my city clerk in Monona after looking up their information online. They’re doing at-home training for new poll workers, so I picked up a packet that has what I need and can watch the training video on my own time. I had no idea that you get paid for being a poll worker either (in real money and free coffee all day!).

If you want to find out how to be a poll worker for the election on November 3, start by looking up your city clerk by clicking here. Then, contact them via email or a phone call and let them know you’d like to help. They’ll take it from there.

Thanks for doing your part by, of course, voting on November 3, and by looking into this opportunity to help!
