Parade Canceled Due to Weather

Get ready to see the Capitol Square looking like a giant bowl of Lucky Charms! Join Magic 98 at Madison’s 26th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade which circles the downtown loop on Sunday, March 15.

Here’s the lowdown for a fun Sunday:

  • The Schedule: The party officially starts at noon with the Irish flag raising inside the Capitol Rotunda (it’s worth a peek for the acoustics alone). The actual parade kicks off at 1:30 PM.
  • The Route: It loops counter-clockwise around the Square, so you can pretty much set up anywhere with a good view.
  • Pro Tip: If the March wind is biting, grab a window seat at a spot like Colectivo or The Rigby to watch the bagpipes and floats in comfort.
  • Dress Code: If you aren't wearing at least one item of green, are you even doing Madison right?

It’s basically a massive, friendly neighborhood party where everyone is Irish for the afternoon. Look for A New Day with Lanette & Charlotte - plus Mark Van Allen - at the start of the parade with Russ Darrow Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - Discover the Darrow Difference. We hope to see you there!

Spring Forward: Daylight Saving Time

It’s that magical time of year again when we trade a bit of sleep for a lot more sunshine. Daylight Saving Time begins this weekend, so don’t forget to turn your clocks forward one hour before you head to bed on Saturday night.

While your phone and computer are smart enough to jump ahead on their own, your trusty old-school gadgets will need a manual boost. It’s time to tackle the usual suspects:

  • The Kitchen: That microwave and stove combo.

  • The Walls: Any decorative clocks that have been ticking away.

  • The Car: Finally, the dashboard clock will actually be right again!

Take a few minutes to reset them all so you aren't caught off guard on Sunday. Even though we’re "losing" an hour of sleep, we’re gaining those beautiful, long spring evenings. Plus, Magic Sunday Morning with Kathryn Vaughn is the perfect way to start your first sun-drenched morning of the season!
