Fundraiser for Jill Hensen
|Date:||July 11, 2020|
On Friday, June 12, 2020, Jill Hensen, collapsed at work and went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully, a co-worker, who was recently CPR certified, performed CPR, along with first responders and saved her life! Upon arrival at the hospital, they determined one of her arteries was 100% blocked, and fortunately were able to clear it. However, because they were unsure how long her brain may have been deprived of oxygen, they initiated hypothermia therapy, which includes putting her in a medically induced coma to help heal any brain damage that may have been caused. They don’t know how much or how severe her brain is damaged until she wakes up, which is now delayed due to seizures.
At this time, Jill remains in the ICU in critical condition and on a ventilator, as the doctors are doing everything they can for Jill and her family to get to the source of the seizures and help wake her up. She has a long road ahead of her and we are looking for anyway we can to help Jill and her family by providing funding to assist with medical bills or whatever other else is needed to give strength and energy for Jill’s continued recovery.
In addition, due to COVID-19, the hospital is only allowing one visitor per day, so Jill’s strong and amazing daughter, Cailynn, has been with her holding her hand every day since and telling her how much she is loved and missed by all of us!
On Saturday, July 11, there’s a fundraiser planned for Jill at the Edelweiss in New Glarus with a 1PM shotgun start. $75 per person gets you golf, food and prizes. Call 608-845-9690 to sign up or to sponsor. A portion of each golfer’s entry fee will be donated, along with 50/50 raffles, and any money collected in donation jars at 5th Quarter.
