40th Annual KOATS FOR KIDS
Each fall in Madison, KOATS FOR KIDS wraps the Madison area in warmth, turning generosity into cozy coats for children who need them most. It's more than a coat drive, it's a community stitching hope into every zipper and sleeve. Join Magic 98, News 3 Now, Klinke Cleaners and the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County in reaching our donation goal of 5,000 coats.
KOATS FOR KIDS kicks off on Monday, September 8 from 6am - 6:30pm with a curbside "Pack the Truck" event at Klinke Cleaners, 4512 Monona Drive in Madison. We are accepting new and gently worn winter coats as well as winter accessories such as snow pants, snowsuits, mittens, hats, and scarves. Coats for infants, toddlers and the largest teen sizes continue to be in greatest demand.
Donations may be dropped off at any of the Klinke Cleaners locations through Saturday, October 4. They will be dry cleaned for free before being distributed to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County. If you don't have any children's coats or accessories to donate, here are some other ways you may help:
This year’s distribution will be held Friday, October 24 from 4pm - 6pm at the following locations:
- Fitchburg - Allied Family Center, 4619 Jenewein Rd.
- Madison - Erica and Anthony Fleming Boys and Girls Club, 2001 Taft St.
- Sun Prairie - McKenzie Family Boys and Girls Club, 232 Windsor St.
