Local Snow Emergencies By City
Looks like it’s one of those “yep, winter’s really here” kind of weekends. A bunch of local cities just rolled out snow emergencies. Translation: move your cars, grab your shovels, and maybe bribe a neighbor with hot cocoa for help. It can be a little chaotic, but honestly … there’s something kind of fun about the whole town scrambling through a fresh blanket of snow. Stay warm and stay on the right side of the parking signs!
CLINTON
Snow removal emergency from Saturday 8am to Sunday 12pm. No parking allowed on village streets. Parking (24 hour) is available in the municipal parking lot in the 200 block of Mill Street. Vehicles must be moved after 24 hours in the municipal parking Lot
EVANSVILLE
Snow emergency from Saturday 10pm to Sunday 8am. No street parking will not be permitted during the snow emergency.
LODI
Snow emergency on Sunday from 12am to 12noon. No parking on any street or public alley. The downtown business district is exempt. The city also asks that sidewalks are cleared within 24 hours after the snow is done falling. Snow cannot be pushed from the sidewalk or driveway into the street.
MADISON
Snow emergency from Saturday 11am to Monday 7am. Alternate side parking required from 1am to 7am. Saturday night, park on the EVEN side of street. Residents can park for free at city garages with gated sections from 9pm to 7am.
MCFARLAND
Snow emergency from Friday 8pm to Sunday 8am. Vehicles are not allowed to be parked on public streets. Vehicles on public streets during the snow emergency are subject to citation or removal.
MONONA
Snow emergency from Saturday 8am to Sunday 10am. No parking on any street. Street parking or alternate side parking is allowed on parts of St. Theresa Terrace, Gordon Avenue, Wallace Avenue, Valorie Lane, and Anthony Place.
JANESVILLE
Winter weather emergency from Saturday 2am to Monday 7am. Vehicles must be removed from city streets until snow and ice control operations are complete. If you are unable to park in a driveway or garage, parking is allowed in any of the following municipal parking lots are available downtown:
East Wall Street Lot at E Wall Street & N Parker Drive
- City Hall Lot at W Wall Street & N Jackson Street
- S High Street Lot at W Court Street & S High Street
- Hedberg Public Library Lot on Water Street
- River/Union Street Lot at S River Street & Union Street
- N Parker Drive Parking Ramp at N Parker Drive and E Wall Street
STOUGHTON
Snow emergency from Saturday 12am to Wednesday 8am. Parking will be even/odd from midnight to 8am for three consecutive periods unless canceled or extended.
SUN PRAIRIE
Snow emergency from Saturday 9am to Sunday 12pm. No parking is permitted on any city street. Vehicles parked on the street in violation of this ordinance can be ticketed ($50 fine) and may be towed. Vehicles may be parked in municipal parking lots, parking lots and on Merchant Square in the city during the declared snow emergency.
