Several blog posts back, I wrote about a beautiful 100-year-old willow tree along the Yahara River Trail, where I walk all the time. It’s the very one where I first met the owl I photographed in yet another blog post. The picture you see here is that tree now. Several trees were damaged in the same storm. It fell over the bridge, destroying the fencing and blocking the path for awhile. Notice two things in the picture. First, the black square to the left is my camera case, just to give you an idea of the girth of this tree, Second, if you look at the picture as a whole, it looks like half of a fox head, my camera case being its nose!
