Jillene’s Blog: Happy Anniversary To Us

Have you ever been a part of something for a relatively short amount of time, but it’s felt like so much longer? That’s how I feel about the last year! This time last year, on the Monday before Thanksgiving, I reported for my first day of work at Magic 98. Nearly a year later. . . I can’t imagine reporting for duty anywhere else. I knew Magic 98 was special when I first met Pat O’Neill. After meeting Lanette Hansen and Ginger Martin not long after, I was hooked! I had never wanted a job more than I wanted this job, and every day I come to work. . . I’m grateful.

In the last year, you’ve made the most impact on my time at Magic 98 (yes, you!). From the very beginning, you welcomed me and let me in to your world. I was nervous about being the “new kid” on a team of people who have worked together for so long, but luckily, I didn’t have to do it alone. A few weeks after I started, Julie Jacobs was introduced to you on the midday show. I don’t want to put words in her mouth, but I have a feeling that she feels the same way about you as I do. Your immediate acceptance of us as people – as your new companions  – and your participation in the things we do on the air, on the Magic Facebook page, and our website. . . those little things (that you do probably without even realizing it) mean the world. Madison is not my hometown or the place I grew up, but in the last year it’s quickly become a place I’m proud to call home. When I think of home, I think of family. As a part of the Magic 98 family – I want to thank you for the last year. It’s been a fun ride so far and I cannot wait to see where we go from here!

As we prepare to give thanks and celebrate the holidays with our families in the coming days and weeks, please know that all of us at Magic 98 are thankful for you. Happy anniversary! And thank you for being a part of the Magic.
